Painting in Brush Creek Art Walk - 9th Annual

We had perfect weather for this year’s BCAW painting event in mid-September. And even with Covid, we had 50+ artists sign up to participate. All of us are so grateful to Alex Hamil for putting on the event again this year.  It is such a joy to get together with other plein air artists and paint.

I worked on two small paintings during the event. One is titled “Butterfly Garden” 11”x14” and it was aptly named. There were tons of butterflies and bees flying around me, and the yellow daisies and purple sage, I was painting.

The second painting is “Pink Wild Rose” 11”x14”and it was painted in the Loose Park Rose Garden. I walked through the garden which was full of roses and chose this view to paint.

I was very fortunate that there were not any weddings scheduled until 2pm that day which was just as I was finishing the painting. The Rose Garden hosts weddings every 2hrs on the weekend, starting at 8am.

All of the Artist’s paintings including mine will be showing at the Anita Gorman Discovery Center during the month of October and can be seen during their regular business hours.

During the month of November, they will be showing at Buttonwood on Main Street.

Looking forward to next year’s event!
